I studied watercolor fashion illustration at Parsons School of Design with Tim Gunn, so when I’m hired to create guest portraits I am more than ready to jump in. I set up either throughout the entire event or just during cocktail hour, working on a larger painting for couples and honorees for the remainder, and I chat with guests while creating small quick watercolor portraits. These make incredible gifts that mark the occasion and are taken home to be framed. Guests share stories and laugh with me while I work brushstrokes through watercolors to bring movement to their likenesses. It’s the hottest event activation, but I’ve been creating these kinds of fashion illustrations for decades.
